Merry Christmas to us!

Pentoga Road

We did go to Green Bay Saturday morning. Other than a few necessities purchased at Sam's Club, our main goal was to find an electric fireplace.

Sargie and I decided sometime ago that this year, rather than buy each other Christmas presents, we'd pool our money and purchase an electric fireplace for the dining room, one that might be practical as well as add to the decor.

Menard's had fireplaces on sale so we decided to go shopping. In the end, we purchased the one above, made from real wood (as Sargie said, no plastic) and weighs about what a Sherman tank might.

After meeting Sargie's son, Cale, for lunch, we made our way north and was home by late afternoon. It took some effort to get the crate into the house and unpack the fireplace, but it was soon in its new location and working beautifully. We both are very happy.
There was styrofoam, cardboard, boards, and plastic, everywhere as we unpacked our new purchase. Thankfully, it came out of the crate scratch-free.
After a supper of chicken wings, we were content to watch television and in bed fairly early.

Sargie's off today. She says we're going to clean in preparation of putting up the Christmas decorations. Andy and his girlfriend, Jessica, will be here for Thanksgiving, with Andy staying on for a few days. After that, Mom will be arriving for the holidays. It's going to be a busy time and Sargie thinks there's no time like the present to begin our Christmas preparation.

So, what do I know? I'm just along for the ride. All that's certain is that any cleaning or decorating better be finished by the time the Packers play later today. A guy has priorities, don't you know? After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
