What's that white stuff coming down? Why, that's snow that fell on Sunday morning.

After several days of rain, wind, and snow, it dawning beautiful this morning. Being my last day home for a week, I intend to take full advantage of the good weather.

Sunday was rainy/snowy and windy. Since Sargie didn't have to work until noon, I made us both huge omelets, filled with last of this year's garden vegetables, for breakfast.

I was going to make a pot roast for supper last night, but Sargie said one big meal was enough.

What goes best with an omelet? Peanut butter and jelly on toast of course!
I'll put the roast in the slow cooker today along with various goodies and since she's working early today, we will enjoy that for tonight's supper.

I spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon working up the wood that filled the truck.

The wood shed is currently refilled and what was left has been put in the pile behind the shed and covered with a tarp.

The rest of the day was spent in and around the garden. I took the pumpkins that had rotted and along with zucchini that were too big, vines, and other squash, dumped them in a field behind Neighbor Mike's. I set up the trail cam nearby to record the deer that should be in to graze on the vegetables.

The camera is on a fence post on the far right facing the pile on the left. It will be fun to see what visited last night.
I picked the last of Sargie's mini-sweet peppers yesterday and brought those inside. I got the seed from a foreign and exotic place, Walmart. She bought a bag of peppers last winter that were so sweet and just the right size to munch on. Almost seedless, a person could eat one without cutting it open. I took the few seeds I found, dried, then planted them. They were obviously hybrid as not all plants turned out the same, but it was fun and these were tender and sweet.

Sargie was home early last night and we had a great evening gabbing and watching television. She works early today and hopefully, we should have time together tonight.

I leave on tomorrow's 12:30 flight out of Iron Mountain for a week of visiting the sons and their families. It's going to be a long day as I'm not scheduled to land in Portland, Maine, until 10:30 Tuesday night. I'll be on the East Coast until Wednesday the 15th.

But first, there's today. I have another tree to cut down and work up. There's still plenty in the garden to throw away and I'd like to finish landscaping that one area in the rear of the backyard. Oh, there are tons of papers that came in overnight to read and grade.

But first, it's time for a cup of coffee and listen to the news.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
