You can't beat a good early-morning Grandma snuggle

I was up early this morning so I might grade papers before the internet completely disappears. Supposedly, the owner of the company and a helper are to be out here at "the first part of the week," but in reality, who knows? He says trees are getting in the way of my reception from the tower to the house. I think that's a lot of hooey. In reality, he doesn't have enough bandwidth for all his customers. When others get on the net during the day, it kicks me off. Otherwise, why do I have such great internet in the very early-morning hours?

We began Sunday with super dooper pancakes. I made Grady a big one, smothered it with brown sugar, cinnamon, homemade maple syrup, butter, and all the important food groups in life (except bacon) but he said he'd rather have his bottle. There was no choice for either Sargie or me but to eat his along with our own.

I finished another shelf in the storage shed and also completed the wall in the garage. What a relief to have that done. Sargie says it looks much better, but more importantly, with the added insulation and stability, it ought to make the kitchen much warmer during the cold weather to come.

The rest of the pictures are of Grady. No explanations needed.

Grady and I watched the first half of the Packers/Jets game before we had to drive to Marquette and take him home. Thankfully, we put our heads together and found a solution for Green Bay to win.

With Sargie behind the wheel, we came home last night and watched tv for a bit before heading to bed.

Sargie closes tonight and it will be long day for her. I'm going to build another shelf then possibly tackle a large maple tree back in the woods that has died and needs to be cut down and worked up for overnight fire wood. I use the softwood from Yooper Brother Mark's plant during the day, but the rock maple holds a fire and coals much better during the nighttime hours.

If the wind stays down, I may go fishing later this afternoon. It's time to resume my never-ending quest to put meat on the table. After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
