On goes the roof |
Written Thursday evening
59 degrees/clear/calm
Pentoga Road
I'm writing this on Thursday evening as I have a doctor's appointment at 8:15 Friday morning in Iron Mountain. I'll be out of bed early.
* A small paragraph written Friday morning - I can't believe it. It's 34 degrees and I'm sitting here hoping the temperature doesn't drop another degree or two and freeze the garden. I read last night that this past January through July broke an all-time record for being the coldest first six months of any year recorded. Oh well, it is what it is. Meanwhile, back to what was written last night.
I'm hoping to be home before 10 so I can work on the roof of the storage shed.
Sandhill Cranes circling before landing in the field across from the house. |
The big excitement on Thursday was having new lines and stripes painted on Pentoga Road. I'm surprised, as some days, there aren't more than half a dozen vehicles go by. |
I wrestled them onto the rafters and screwed each into place.
I hope to finish that job tomorrow. After, I'll cover the roof with plastic to protect it from any rain. After the next pay day, I'll purchase rolled roofing to cover it right.
Sargie worked for quite a while on a porch swing she is making.
I spent this evening in the garden, watering, weeding, and picking.
It's about time for me to make Sargie's lunch for tomorrow and think about bed. I'm tired tonight and have to be up early in the morning.
But then I'm not surprised. After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
