Since putting in a new road to get to the back of the property, I'm able to view the house and yard from a new angle. It's nice not to have to take the tractor and machinery through the back yard. |

Pentoga Road
Things have kicked into summer mode on Pentoga Road. Whether Sargie's planting her flowers, I'm mowing the grass or playing in the garden, it seems there are more projects than time. I've been doing some fishing, making more raised beds, welding tomato cages, and hopping from one job to the other. Sargie worked late a series of days, but when she's home early, has spent no small amount of time planting her flowers.

Baby Grady is doing great. As soon as a pesky infection (in his foot) clears up, he'll be able to leave the hospital and come home. |
|
Grandma Sargie changing his diapers. Later, she rocked and fed him. |
|
While in Marquette, a storm deposited almost two inches of rain and blew over a good-sized popple tree. |
|
The fountain I gave Sargie for Mother's Day. I'd seen one like it in Louisiana while visiting Andy, but had no way of getting it home. I finally found a like one in Marquette last weekend. |

Neighbor Mike and I went fishing one afternoon |

Until a storm ran us off the lake |
|
I've built and planted three new raised beds this past week. |
|
Little Red Wagons are alive and well. Sargie uses the same one she pulled her boys around in to move flower pots. |
|
I built a pea trellis in the garden. They are already climbing up between the twine. |
|
We had leftover pulled pork from one meal. I added mashed taters, corn, and other secret ingredients to make a meat pie. I just labeled it as a Sargie Pie. |
It's been a busy week. Our great nieces, Marley and Aubrey, are coming to visit for the weekend. With a five-year old and a two year old, it promises to be an action-packed two days. We're hoping the weather is nice as we've planned a four-wheeler trip into town and an afternoon of swimming and kayaking at one of the local lakes.
Little Andy is due to fly into Iron Mountain next Thursday for ten days. We're looking forward to his stay a great deal.
I'm going to plant petunias in the hanging upside-down container this morning. After that? Who knows. The only thing that is certain is a man's work is never done.

The blueberries are in full blossom. Hopefully, there'll be a large crop this year. |
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
|
Sargie can use her little red wagon to transport flower pots. I prefer something a big bigger with less effort. |
