Pentoga Road
We just finished a wonderful weekend with our great nieces, Aubrey and Marley, or if we call them by their biker-chick names, Peanut and Butter.
From pancakes and French toast to hopscotch, kayaking and a twenty-mile four wheeler trip, we did it all. Sometimes, pictures can tell the story better than words:
|
It's early morning and they are looking at pictures of their newest cousin, Grady |
|
Marley's getting the kayaks ready for some quality time on the lake |
|
Brutus forgets who I am and is never far from the girls. Brought up with young children, he takes on a very gentle demeanor and makes sure both are safe. |
|
Marley learned how to drive a four wheeler. When she's on an ATV, we use her biker chick name, Butter. |
|
Marley was a huge help helping her Uncle Tom unload firewood! |

Being a supervisor can take it out of a person |

What's a weekend at Auntie Sargie's and Uncle Tom's without a good session of sidewalk chalk and hopscotch?... oh, and a bulldog. |

We did some grocery shopping and Auntie Sargie bought a box of puppy chow for a snack. When Butter asked what was in puppy chow, I told her chocolate-covered puppies. Why else would they name it puppy chow!?!? |
Mommy and Daddy arrived on Sunday afternoon to visit and pick up the girls. We hated to see them leave, but that's what makes their visits so much fun... the occasional special times we get to spend together. We had hamburgers from the grill and Sargie's macaroni salad.
|
It's all high class when one's guests sit on a minnow bucket to eat supper. |
I'm not sure what all today holds in store. Sargie opens and we'll meet in Iron Mountain late this afternoon for a gathering to celebrate a special milestone birthday for Sargie's sister, Jeanne. (29?)
I might go fishing first thing this morning then build some trellises in the garden. I keep saying, there aren't enough hours in the day, but then I'm not surprised.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
