Grandma Sargie and Squirt

September 12, 2021 - Sunday morning
51 degrees/partly cloudy/calm winds
Eagle River, Wisconsin

Once again, it's an entry filled with family pictures. Yesterday's outing on the water was worthy of many.

It's no wonder I was somewhat worried about getting turned around Friday night while navigating in the dark. I found this on the Travel Wisconsin website:

"The 9 lakes of the Eagle River Chain comprise nearly 3,600 acres, and when combined with the adjoining Three Lakes Chain, form the largest freshwater chain of lakes in the world."

At any rate, we motored the 3,000 plus acres of water in good shape yesterday. I had the chart plotter/sonar running, much like the one on my boat in SE Alaska, and that eliminated any guess work from navigating.

We did celebrate Squirt's first birthday late yesterday afternoon, complete with ice cream and cake.

I'm just going to upload the pictures this morning with little comment.

Uncle Shea with Cheeks and Hambone

From the paranormal?
This small bubble magically appeared in the dining room yesterday, floated in the air for quite a while, dipped into one light globe, popped out, then dipped into another and permanently out of sight.

Saturday's festivities concluded by sitting around a lakeshore campfire. Mel made everyone pudgy pies and we talked and laughed the evening away. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Checkout time is at 10 this morning, so everyone will soon be rising and packing. It's hard to believe that this weekend flew by so quickly.

Time to end and get the day started.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
