May 10, 2021 - Monday morning
31 degrees/clears skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road
I literally have twenty minutes to write and post this before we leave for my doctor's appointment in Rhinelander. This is going to be what is called, "a kiss and run," entry. Pardon the typos in advance.
Yesterday was a fun Mother's Day. I went for my early walk. Beautiful as always.
Sargie enjoyed opening her Mother's Day gifts and I loved watching her. As you can see below, I spent quite a bit of time wrapping each box in a blanket.
Sargie had seen a wrought iron/stone patio table and chairs in a catalogue two months ago and had commented how pretty they were.
I ordered them the next morning and thankfully, the last chair was delivered via Fed Ex Saturday afternoon.
Heavy? Those things and a VW Bug must weigh about the same. Sargie says we're going to build a paver patio by the garden house where the table and chairs will be permanently placed.
I guess I'll have to drink my mint juleps out there while Sargie tends the garden. (I'm going to pay for that one.)
Always a project... always a project... sigh.
We had a great Mother's Day ride west of Iron River and saw all kinds of things most tourists don't witness.
How about a shoe tree?
Or a couple of semi life-sized elephants trumpeting at each other in a front yard? Saharan Elephants look so natural in the Upper Peninsula.
Mel, Macrea, Hambone, and Cheeks, arrived on Pentoga Road later in the evening. They gave Grandma Sargie her Mother's Day gifts and we enjoyed a short, but good, visit.
Of course, Grandma Sargie got her wish and was able to hold Cheeks who either spent her time looking around, screaming, or eating. It's what babies do.
One good thing. If Cheeks ever decides to play softball and be a catcher, she'll not need a glove.
Our Mother's Day had been a full and happy one.
We'll be leaving in a few minutes for Rhinelander. Thankfully, my injection is scheduled early so I don't have to spend the day thinking about it. We'll do some shopping while in town before heading to Iron Mountain to get our taxes.
Teaching Sadie how to sit up. She almost has it down.
Time to move along.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
