The Young and the Restless
Yooper Brother Mark and Sheri in Myrtle Beach, SC
April 20, 2021 - Tuesday morning
22 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road
Yeah... sigh. While some of us are enduring the onslaught of snow and rain, others are frolicking and playing beachside in the sun and surf. Mark has been sending pictures while on vacation.
Truth be known, the folks invited us to go many times over. With Mel's shower and Cheek's baptism, it just didn't work out this time around, but no doubt, there'll be others. Have fun folks!
Anything worth talking about was pretty much nonexistent yesterday. After arriving home from my morning walk and enjoying a late breakfast, Sargie and I took our usual ride to town. We came home after and.... sat.
I'm taking a video of the water spilling over the causeway of the dam on the Paint River in Crystal Falls
Though we really didn't have the usual spring flood from melting snow, the recent rains have caused many of the area rivers and streams to run full to overflowing.
We watched a really dumb movie on Netflix Monday afternoon along with a couple of tv shows, but didn't do anything else. I stared at hiking and turning videos, but don't remember what I watched. It was just one of those days.
About the time I'd get up to go outside, I'd look out the window, shake my head, then sit back down. There are advantages to being retired, you know.
Finally, a break in the weather. I walked to the back of the property and retrieved the flash card from the trail cam. It's been over a month since I last checked it.
It appears our coyote population is alive and well on Pentoga Road.
There are no shortages of foxes either.
I took the opportunity to try to start the backhoe while outside when on the second pull, the rope broke. I'll take the housing off this morning and drop it off at the local small engine shop to be replaced and rewound. That's one fix I refuse to do. Been there/done that.
It's time to head out for my morning walk. The pain in my left knee that has been bothering me the past couple of days is completely gone. I'm back to 100%.
Today is a shop day. The sun's shining, at least for now, and I've got the itch to do something.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
I heard rumors that Sheri's quitting work to become a full time beach babe.
