March 8, 2021 - Monday morning
44 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Madison, WI
The five hour drive to Madison went smoothly Sunday afternoon. We were surprised at the number of pickup trucks pulling trailers piled high with snow machines in the southbound lanes. Evidently, every flatlander who owns a snowmobile wanted to get in one last weekend of sledding before the snow's gone.
We arrived in Madison before check in time at the hotel, so spent a couple of hours shopping for goodies that we didn't know we needed. The crowd at Costco was cart-to-cart, but thankfully, our fellow shoppers were very polite and Costco did what Costco does best, they moved huge numbers of shoppers in and out of the store in short order.
Last night was spent playing cards and/or watching television while stuffing giant pieces of pizza into our faces. Both Sargie and I slept well and awakened this morning ready to meet the new day.
My appointment this morning is for 9 AM. Poor Sargie will have to sit out in the parking lot due to the Covid rules. Hopefully, I'll be in and out in short order.
Today's drive back north includes stops in Wausau at Sam's Club as well as Walmart and Aldi's in Rhinelander. With any luck, we should arrive home well before dark.
Well, shoot, I guess it's time to put on my big boy pants and go get that shot. Dang it anyway. What a pain in the a**. Whoops, I mean eye.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
