There's one happy Grandma and a contented baby

Pentoga Road
My usual pre dawn visit to the back of the wood shed didn't happen this morning. Boy oh boy, it's nippy out there. I guess winter's here to stay.
According to the National Weather Service, this is just the first in a series of arctic blasts that will grace the upper Midwest and are predicting winter very well may last well into spring.
So what else is new?
It's a short one this morning. Arriving home from our walk, I watched Yooper Brother Mark drive down the road before hurrying into the house. The plow had come through earlier making it possible to drive Sadie back home and FINALLY get to see that new grandbaby.
Though we were in no hurry to see the pup leave, Grandma Sargie (and yes, Pawpaw) were itching to get their hands on Baby Cheeks. It wasn't long before the Blazer was loaded and we were chugging up the road in four wheel drive.
I have eighty or a hundred pictures, but will post only a couple or ten.
Hambone is mighty proud of his baby sister and told us yesterday how much loved her. I'd expect no less.
We had a great visit. Grandma Sargie fed Cheeks and held her for the entire time we were there.
Since our less-than-popular governor, the one who knows what's good for us, finally reopened indoor dining, we'd made plans to meet for supper. It was time to go.
Prying Baby Cheeks from Grandma Sargie was like untethering the astronauts while performing a walk outside the International Space Station. With a promise to see each other again, we departed.
Other than my morning walk, I'm not at all sure what today will bring. I should remove some snow from the roof of the front porch and garage. Jambo's drive still needs to be plowed and I'd like to warm up the shop and work out there a bit. Sitting here in the dark and listening to the wind howl, it all seems like there's so much to do outside and so little of me... and I'm feeling particularly vulnerable this morning.
Sigh.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
