January 8, 2021 - Friday evening
21 degrees/partly cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road
The tv's on, but it's not keeping my interest, so I decided to either read or write. Writing was the winner this evening.
I overslept this morning. How'd that work? Initially, I awakened at 4:45 AM, but not really wanting to rise that early, I thought I'd snuggle with Sargie for just a few minutes. Three hours later I finally rose for the day.
My morning walk was a good one. The day was warm, but the footing somewhat slippery. With highs registering around the freezing mark, snow and ice have melted and refrozen several times.
Sargie and I took a nice ride around a couple of the area lakes late Friday morning. We've commented several times about how warm the weather is for being in the middle of winter. From what I've read recently, that's about to change towards the end of next week when the temperatures are forecast to drop from fifteen to thirty degrees above normal to that much below.
If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Yooper Brother Mark drove out from town after we arrived home. Having the afternoon off, we walked to Pentoga Bridge and back, my second trek of the day.
Back home, Mark left for home and I for the shop when Jambo pulled in needing to cut a few boards. It was good to see my friend. With the Covid and all that goes with it, we've not seen each other very much this past fall and winter.
