November 21, 2020 - Saturday morning
25 degrees/partly cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road
No time to write this morning as people are beginning to rise and shine. With a small, two bedroom house, they are scattered from here to the horizon on the couch, futon, extra bed, etc. etc. It's just as a holiday family time should be.
In a nutshell, we made six pumpkin pies yesterday using Grandma Reinhardt's recipe. They were pronounced a success.
Grady and I made pumpkin cookies.
I also mixed the ingredients for a French toast casserole that I'll be putting in the oven shortly.
Grady found the time to rescue a vole that was confused and on the ice along the edge of the pond. He carefully scooped the critter up and after a close inspection, later deposited him in the woods to live the winter under dead leaves and ferns.
Last night, we enjoyed fried crappie filets, brats cooked outside on the grill, taters, and of course, ice cream.
Youngest granddaughter, Makenna's the star of the show. Six months of age, she's alert and follows everyone with her head and eyes. She's also beginning to talk up a storm and loves to stand straight up and look around while being supported.
Only thing about Makenna... she's a teeny little thing, less than ten pounds and still wears newborn clothes. She a little dolly, beautiful and perfect in every way.
So that's the news for today. Time to get breakfast going.
Uncle Shea entertained everyone with a pair of silly glasses
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
