One of Friday's highlights in Green Bay? Riding through the carwash!
October 16, 2020 - Friday morning

Pentoga Road

Hey, quit the snickering. We missed the carnival rides at this year's suspended county fair due to the virus, so you can only imagine the thrill, the anticipation, the suspense, I felt as the track grabbed hold of the car to pull us through the various stages of yesterday's car wash.

In the pre-virus days, one had to get out, walk, and observe, through a series of windows, as his towed car was being being scrubbed, waxed, and polished. In these modern disease ridden days of car wash quarantine, the driver gets to sit inside and experience the same thrills as the vehicle.

Cloaked in a thick blanket of suds and such, I asked Sargie if she wanted to "park" while being towed along, you know, throw a little spice into the marriage.

Yeah, it seems smooching in a car wash wasn't her idea of being romantic.

Back to the drawing board.

Later, driving down the road in a spankin' clean car, inside and out, I silently wondered what the poor folks were doing?

It was then I realized the obvious. They were the ones driving dirty vehicles.

Yesterday's shopping trip was a fun one. Stops were made at all the venues.

Everything from an air compressor to groceries were purchased as we left untold wads of money at each store.

With various games of Jeopardy played, songs sung, and multiple conversations of serious light hearted discussion, the drive home went by quickly. Sargie stored our purchased treasures away while I did the same with a few outside plants, fed the goldfish, and drained the front fountain of water. Forecasts were for a hard freeze last night and Carl didn't disappoint us.

We'd purchased a pizza at Sam's Club to bake when we got home. It cost a whoppin' eight dollars for a family size pizza, but missing were some key ingredients. Sargie and I had fun last evening dressing ours up with plenty of mushrooms, black olives, and copious amounts of mozzarella cheese.

In the end, we ate like royalty... or pigs... take your choice. After an evening of watching tv, we oinked ourselves up the steps to bed after our self imposed pizzafest.

I'm heading out the door for my morning walk. With rain and snow forecast daily for the next week or more, I'm hoping to get the lawn mowed one last time. The pavement under the barn door has sunk over the years leaving a four inch gap.

I've got grand designs of attaching flexible, heavy, rubber pond liner to the bottom. I'm not certain how that will work, but hey, it's a project and as we all know, Tom likes projects.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
