| Aria and Grandma Sargie... whoops, Auntie Sargie My bride has so many titles that I can't keep them all straight. |
August 13, 2020 - Thursday morning
61 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road
Hmm, it looks as though a bit of rain fell overnight. Yep, I just returned from outside. After looking at the rain gauge, we received just .15 of an inch.
Notice I usually start the blog with the weather?
There are several who own camps, but live away and appreciate knowing what's going on "up home," weather included. I'm happy to tell them.
Wednesday morning's walk was a good one, although the humidity was already quite uncomfortable. By the time I returned home, my shirt was soaked.

We had a great visit and were sad to see them leave.
Sargie and I had thought about getting a load of wood chips to spread in the garden paths, but it was just too humid. Instead, we took a short ride in the air conditioned car, getting Sargie's Coke and an ice cream cone for Hambone, before returning home.
It didn't take us long to make our way to the much cooler shop.
Grandma Sargie and Hambone worked for quite a while on a painting over canvas.
Sargie used tape to form Grady's name before having him cover the entire canvas in acrylic paints. He could paint anything including pictures, brush strokes, or even hand prints.
In the end, out came a master piece to give to Mama and Daddy.
I was off to one side sorting through two huge drawers that were filled with ten years accumulation of wires, electronic components, and other stuff. Most were things that I've considered too good to throw away yet seldom need or use.
Wires were categorized, pitched, or otherwise sorted. In the end, two full drawers became one. The rest will go to the dump or be recycled.
Finished with his artistic masterpiece, Hambone constructed a log cabin from popsicle sticks using a hot glue gun.
My supply of inexpensive Walmart crafts paint decreased yesterday, but I'd much rather see Hambone using his imagination and hands than staring at a mindless tablet or phone all day long. Sargie and I, both, believe that our investment of time and personal attention to Hambone will result in huge dividends for the boy.
Grandma Sargie and Hambone moved out to the pond.

| Eugene the Eyeball with arms ... or is that Grady hiding? |
I remained in the shop to make a treasure map for Hambone to follow. Today's hunt begins at the house, winds around the yard, partway down the main trail, back to the barn, woodshed, portable garage, then ends at the squirrel live trap where the treasure will be... a certificate for a Happy Meal.
Finished with the map, I made my way to the pond where Hambone and I played dodge ball. He floated in the pond while I "bombed" him, lobbing the ball high into the air from the shore.
It's cloudy and the humidity already stands at 92%. Thankfully, the temperature is to remain in the mid to upper 70's today. I'm heading out the door for my walk, then there's the treasure hunt planned for later this morning and no doubt we'll go swimming at some point this afternoon. I'm told there'll be a Hambone exchange later this afternoon when we'll bid our little buddy goodbye, but until then, the world's the limit.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
