May 9, 2020 - Saturday morning
17 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road
At least Friday morning's snow melted, leaving the ground bare and cold. I read yesterday that our ground temperature is averaging four to five degrees below normal for this time of the year and there's little warming in sight. Next week's high temperatures are forecast to be in the upper 40's and low 50's. Normal highs for this time of the year are in the low to mid 60's.
After a very cold and windy walk Friday morning, I returned home to keep Sargie company in the house, doing one thing or the other. We were excited that Yooper Brother Mark and Sheri were coming out for a fish fry later in the day.
I did spent an hour in the shop hooking up the dust collection system to the new lathe. With the option of reverse, the dust from sanding a piece will be sucked into the vacuum rather than into the air.
Mark and Sheri came out last night and we enjoyed a wonderful evening together. Other than a short visit last week, the four of us haven't been together since our Brownsville vacation in March. We had a great time and enjoyed fried crappie and bluegill filets, shrimp, and French fries. Sheri made two types of cole slaw as well as my favorite Sheri creation, a great whipped cream/pudding type desert.

I don't know why, but I didn't take the camera out of my pocket at all last night. I was having such a great time that it didn't even occur to me.
*Just picture Mark and Sheri. Sheri's the pretty one on the right. Words can't describe Yooper Brother Mark.*
I'm heading out the door pretty quickly for my morning stroll. On today's agenda:
Finish the flower box
Play in the shop
Chase Sargie around the house
And those aren't necessarily in any particular order.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
