Dallas/Ft Worth Airport - Texas
We're at Gate E29 on the tail end of a three hour layover. Naturally, the flight's delayed by forty five minutes and means it will be well after midnight before we complete this current leg of our trip through the southland.
I feel sorry for Yooper Brother Mark and Sheri. We offered to take a cab or Uber, but Mark said they'd be at the airport to pick us up, regardless of the time.
Today was another good one in Laurel, Mississippi. Garry offered his tractor and I didn't hesitate to hop on. As I told him, after driving my 68 year old Ford 8N, piloting his Kabota was like going from riding a kiddie bike with training wheels to driving a sports car. It was wonderful.
Though the garden was still a bit damp, I managed to break the soil with the large tiller hooked to the three point hitch of the tractor.
I wish I had the tillable ground to have a garden this size. |
Garry and I spent most of the day in the shop. I'll let the pictures tell the progression of our colored pencil vase.
The vase is ready for the first application of finish, something that will happen when we arrive back in Laurel from Texas on Wednesday. |
Sargie and I spent part of this afternoon packing. Flying on this leg of our journey, we shed some luggage weight before we left.
Miss Jody made a wonderful lunch of burgers and sweet tater fries this afternoon. She wanted to be sure we left with our bellies full. Miss Jody needn't have worried, especially after we enjoyed eating her famous sweet tater pie for desert.
Though we'll see them again in a few days, it was difficult to say goodbye to Mississippi Brother Garry and Miss Jody. There's a reason we call them brother and sister.
Our time at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport has seen us walking around and riding the skyway from one concourse to the other in search of a... yep, McDonalds. Sargie wanted her Coke.
It's time to close and get ready to board our flight to southern Texas. We're looking forward to our time with Yooper Brother Mark and Sheri. Just as with Garry and Jody, there's a reason we consider them family. Sargie and I are lucky to have such good and dear friends.
Time to go for a final walk before we board our plane to Harlingen.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
