The old professor, I mean, Santa, visited Yooper Brother Mark's scout troop Thursday evening |

Speaking of old, I must be losing it. I just got on the web page to write this morning's entry and noticed I hadn't pushed the button to upload yesterday's blog. I put it on earlier this morning and you'll find it directly after this current one.
Thursday was spent in Santa's workshop... well, Pawpaw's workshop. I got the two mixed up yesterday since I got to play Santa last night.
The difference between Santa's workshop and mine? He has elves to help him. Other than an occasional visit from Sargie, mine is a solitary operation.
I took the time for my usual five mile stroll early Thursday morning. As always, it was beautiful.
I arrived home and headed directly to the shop.
Lord, what a mess.
There were paints here, varnish there, sandpaper lying elsewhere. At one time, I thought I was spraying a poly finish and when it didn't look right, discovered I'd been covering a finished work with spray adhesive.
It was late afternoon before I could call the projects done and bring everything into the house to be wrapped. They'll be mailed out later this morning.
These are only part of the presents. Some have already been wrapped. |
With Sargie's assistance, the area's Mrs. Claus, otherwise known as Sheri, helped me into Yooper Brother Marks Santa suit.
While waiting for the munchkins to be ready for Santa, I entertained myself by playing the electric piano in the church's choir loft. I'd like to have one of those someday when I grow up. It had been a year since I'd touched a piano.
Finally, it was time. I entered the basement room jingling bells, proclaiming "MERRY CHRISTMAS!"
Oh, I had fun, lots and lots of fun.
It was time for Santa to leave after listening to all the requests. After all, his reindeer were getting restless high atop the roof of the large Catholic church. The jolly old elf had to get back to the North Pole to resume making toys.
Needless to say, Santa and his babe bride, Sargie, had no problem sleeping last night. Sargie had a good day at work and had to hurry home to go with me to town last night. It had been a hectic day for both of us.
Okay, I'm going to try to remember to get this uploaded, then head out the door for my walk. Sargie's going to wrap the presents that go out in today's mail, then we'll drive to Iron Mountain to mail those and run a few errands.
Since we're hosting Sargie's sons and families tomorrow for Christmas on her side of the family, I promised I'd help get ready for the gathering. I'm the designated floor specialist and assistant duster. It's going to be a busy day, but it's that time of year.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
