With the exception of one high school boy, all went well. Poor kid, by the time he was done in the office, then having to deal with me again, one-on-one, I don't believe he'll be giving me any trouble again.
He departed our conversation a new and believing boy.
The teacher for whom I was subbing left immaculate lesson plans. All the assignments and work sheets were spread out in order on the front lab table making my job much easier.
I departed the high school a happy boy. Another week was under my belt and I was headed home to my Sargie.
Talk about a nice surprise. I arrived home to the aroma of baked pork chops and other goodies. When I walked into the living room, the wood box was full.
Mmm, baked pork chops and taters, topped with jalapeno pickled peppers and sour cream. Can life get any better? |
A short drive to town was taken before supper to take advantage of a two day sale at the local grocery. We detoured through one of our local communities, Gasstra.
Gaastra is a beautiful, yet sleepy, community of a few hundred souls. I've often said that if we were to move to any of the nearby towns, Gaastra would be my choice.
Last night was a lazy one on Pentoga Road and it was early to bed for both of us. Sargie opens the Vision Center this morning and I have some serious plowing to do. From what Carl the Weatherman says, the next system of snow is to arrive on Tuesday, then another on Thursday.
I think I'll spend the rest of the day in the shop. Today, there's some actual carving and sanding that needs to be done.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
