Our garden and pond are somewhere under all that snow
February 20, 2019 - Wednesday morning
4 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

This is going to be a speed entry this morning. Sargie opens extra early as there are only two opticians working and it's a doctor day filled with appointments.

Wouldn't you know it? Another winter storm warning has been posted with six to eight more inches expected to fall later today. One of the teachers said yesterday that it'll be July before we see green grass. I'm inclined to agree with her.

The county has all the area roads sanded with the snow banks pushed well back in preparation for this week's coming onslaught.

Where's the annual February thaw? It must have joined last fall's Indian Summer that was nonexistent.

Tuesday was a yawner in the substitution department. I was a home ec teacher for the first two periods before moving to the English department. The kiddies were good and all went well.

I'd be less than honest if I didn't say that last night's stroll to Pentoga Village felt really good. After a day of Bobcats, I was ready for the peace and tranquility of Pentoga Road. I saw nary a person or vehicle during my hour and a half walk.

Sargie was home early last night and we had a relaxing evening watching the tribute to Elvis Presley that had been recorded earlier on the DVR.

My personal favorites were the gospel songs performed at the end of the program. Whew, I had chills up and down my arms and might have even gotten a little teary eyed.

I'm riding with Sargie this morning a few miles down the road and will hike back. No doubt, the rest of the day will either be spent preparing for the latest round of of white stuff, running the plow up and down Jambo's lane in an attempt to widen it so there's room to push more snow, or in the shop.

It's time to shake, rattle, and roll, cuzz I'm all shook up... uh huh huh. Sorry, I'm still humming Elvis tunes.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
