January 23, 2019 - Wednesday
16 degrees/partly cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

I almost didn't write this morning as Tuesday was pretty much a nonevent. Still, can one count a lazy, restful, day as never happening? Hmm. That's too deep of a thought for the old retired professor this early in the morning.

Sargie and I attended our appointments in Iron Mountain. Nothing new there.

Yawn...

I guess the excitement of the day was stopping by the hardware store to purchase three more wood/metal Sawzall blades with which to cut through the remaining pallets. The store owner and I have talked a few times before and she gave me 15% off for being a good customer. I wish our local hardware store felt the same, even though I spend much more there each year.

Yep, my discount was the high point of Tuesday's action. It's a wild and exciting life we lead here on Pentoga Road.

The rest of the day was spent either on the couch watching television, sometimes with my eyes closed, or grazing from one delectable goody to the other in the kitchen. It was simply one of those kind of days.

The Dutch windmill plans I'd ordered previously arrived in the mail and no small amount of time was spent studying those. Several feet tall when finished, it's going to be a real project. I'll tuck the plans away and put the construction on my Things to Do list for late next summer or even next winter. Most of the detailed work will be done in the shop anyway.

Sargie and I ended the day by climbing the stairs to bed, each of us lamenting that we shouldn't have eaten so much earlier. For doing nothing, we didn't seem to have any trouble falling asleep last night.

Sargie opens the Vision Center today. I'm going to start a fire in the wood furnace as soon as she departs, then head up to Jambo's for coffee while the shop is warming up. My goal today is to finish the trailer filled with pallets, probably ten or twelve of them. Jambo mentioned something about going fishing later this afternoon.

Sounds like a plan to me.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
