Hambone had first pick of all the pumpkins. He also chose four other desktop pumpkins to give his mama and preschool teachers.

It appears the latest monsoon is over, at least for the time being. Heavy storms and rain announced the arrival of the cold front that came marching through last night. There are three additional inches of rain sitting in the gauge this morning.

Yesterday was a wet affair. I worked for sometime in the morning trying to understand why the new power cord failed to energize the old Macbook. A track pad also needed to be installed, so in the end, I tore into the thing and began work.

Thank God for Youtube videos. The track pad was a bit of a bugger, simply because the screws that secure it are so teeny.

I found a dirty connection to be the culprit when it came to charging. It was quickly fixed and the computer is back up and running.

Grady and Macrea arrived in the early afternoon. We enjoyed a quick trip to town to purchase the ingredients for chili and detoured on our way back home to leave a dozen roses with Sargie's sister, Trish, who will be retiring tomorrow.

Trish is so happy to join her husband, Uncle Donnie, in retirement, and we couldn't be happier for her.

Back home, while Sargie and Macrea made chili, Grady and I took advantage of a break in the rain to feed the goldfish. Hambone also found a cantaloupe in the garden.

He'd never had cantaloupe before, but it didn't take him long to discover he liked it... a lot! I told him he could eat all he wanted.

We all had full tummies and had watched a recorded episode of Dancing With the Stars by the time the boys departed. It's one of Hambone's favorite shows and he sat spellbound through the entire thing.

Sargie opens the Vision Center today. I have to be at the elementary school at 11:30 to fill in for the librarian/computer person. I'm going to spend a couple of hours in the shop beforehand. It looks to be an action packed day.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Not content to merely watch Dancing With the Stars, Hambone showed us a few of his favorite moves.
