Happy anniversary, Sargie!
June 17, 2018 - Sunday
69 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road
Whew, today's a big one. First off, let me wish all the dads in the world a happy Father's Day. Remember, without your dad, you wouldn't be reading this!
I wish I could turn back the clock. Father's Day wasn't a big deal to me in my younger years. I simply took Dad for granted and assumed he'd be around forever. Aren't all dads?
What I wouldn't give to be able to spend just one more day with him. Happy Father's Day, Dad. I love you.

I took this Saturday afternoon between rain storms
I've been on the phone this morning talking with two of my sons, both father's of three munchkins each. No doubt they'll all be celebrating in their own way today.

Three of my four sons, Sargie, and me, a year ago today Luke, Matt, Dad, Sargie, Josh. Andy had to work and couldn't make it. (By the way, I'm 6' tall. We grow 'em big.)
Closer to home and even more important is that today is Sargie's and my first wedding anniversary. It doesn't seem like it's been a year. We do almost everything together, but what we do best is laugh. We firmly agree that there's been too much heartache for each of us in the past to do anything other than enjoy life. I like that the best.
Happy anniversary, honey. Here's to another fifty years! I love you!
I played old retired man on Saturday. With Sargie working and rain pouring down, other than make repeated attempts to pick the honeyberries, I had no want to want to venture outside.
Each time the rain stopped, I'd run out to the orchard with bowl in hand and begin picking. I'm not certain how many trips were made.

A delicate fruit, the berries slip easily from the bush and the heavy rains caused many to fall to the ground. I picked as many off the wood chips as I did from the bush.
In the end, two bowls were plucked in some manner or the other and I retired inside for the remainder of the day.

Naps? Uh huh.
Watch television? Why not!
Read? you bet!
Eat? Of course!
I played lazy on Saturday with zero effort expended.
Sargie was home late last night. Excited that she has a full week's vacation ahead, we stayed up late watching television and catching up on recorded programs.
Today. I'm not certain what we'll do today. Sargie's says it's up to me since it's Father's Day and all. I've told her since it's our anniversary, she can make the plans. In reality, I doubt we'll do too much different than what we normally do on her days off. No doubt we'll take a drive, grab a couple of Cokes, order some chicken strips, and take a leisurely drive around the countryside talking and enjoying each other's company.
It's what we do best.
