The Mighty Brule is full to overflowing
May 3, 2018 - Thursday evening
60 degrees/clear/breezy
Pentoga Road

Sargie and I are about too pooped to pop tonight. It's been a full day, that's for sure.

I started the morning by working in the barn and kept saying, "Another hour and I ought to be finished."

Yeah, well, one hour turned into three and those into five. It seemed for every one thing I stumbled across, there was another shelf to be hung, more scrap wood to cut into small pieces for kindling, or other items to store over the shop.

The kindling box is full
Sargie spent no small amount of time cleaning one of the flower beds and the area towards the front flower planter.

We had a nice ride this afternoon. After getting Sargie's Coke, we drove around the area meandering from one lake to another. All have black, rotten, ice that should disappear over the next day or two.

It was early this evening before the barn was finished. There are still a few things along the walls that need attending, but by and large, I can call the barn finished.

Next will be putting the shop back together, but I'll wait until a rainy day. Warm weather is here and most of my time will be spent outside working either in the yard or garden.

I talked with the farmer today from whom I purchase top soil. I'll be getting four yards Saturday morning. In fact, I hope to fill the strawberry planter and get the new plants in the ground by day's end.

Sargie opens the Vision Center Friday morning and works until 6 PM.  I have a dentist appointment bright and early and after, will make another dump run.

I'd like to get the deck pressure washed in the afternoon. It's time to get it sealed and the patio furniture out for the year.

Time's a flyin'!

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
