April 8, 2018 - Sunday morning
-6 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road

Isabella sure knows how to rub it in. While she's been in sunny California enjoying the sun and surf, we in the UP continue to endure way below normal temperatures.

It was ten below zero when I awakened this morning and has warmed up a few degrees since. I'm not even going to launch into my global warming/Al Gore spiel. After this winter, Al is dead to me and is completely written out of my will.

Tough luck, Al, you'll have to make your millions buying and selling carbon credits while lecturing to us deplorables.

I took an extra long walk Saturday morning just to fill the time. With the wind blowing, it wasn't the most pleasant of strolls, but it did get the heart pumping and blood circulating.

Other than a bit of laundry, the rest of the day was spent completing sawing the church.

I'm in a bit of a quandary. I don't know whether to leave it and mount it on a light background or vice versa. Sargie likes the natural look mounted on white (that's a piece of paper underneath in the picture.) I'm tending towards a lighter scene mounted on dark. Guess time will tell.

For certain, I've learned a ton from all the mistakes I've made on this piece. Hopefully, the next work that is this involved will come a bit easier.

I drove to Iron Mountain last night to ride home with Sargie. She works today from noon until five, but I'll wait to retrieve the Blazer until Monday morning when I can get the oil changed in the Kia before returning home.

Other than my usual hike, I have no big plans. It's cold, but otherwise it appears it could be a nice day. Today may be a play day, you know, play outside, bake a cake, go water skiing, hang window dressings, or possibly take a grandpa nap.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
