45 degrees/heavy rain/strong winds
Pentoga Road
It's a short entry today with no pictures. Sargie's still sick and will be video conferencing with Dr. on Demand here fairly shortly. She's on her third day of nonstop coughing and since the Vision Center is understaffed, she feels like she has to go in to work. There's such a wait time in this area to see a doctor that going online for a visit seems to be the prudent way to go. We've done it before and were pleased with the outcome.
Other than move a few plants into the garage yesterday morning, I did absolutely nothing the entire day. I'm not exaggerating. I didn't do a thing.
I feel fine, but for whatever reason, I just couldn't move out of the recliner on Monday. I either watched television, read, or slept the entire day, right up until Sargie arrived home last night at 9 o'clock. I guess it's my body's way of fighting this bug... or I'm getting lazy in my old age.
The weather has turned and it's to rain and blow all day before turning to snow with one to three inches forecast for tonight. I guess this means summer's over? I don't believe the snow will stick, at least to the pavement, but it's going to be ugly for a day or two. Oh well, if we wanted perfect weather, we'd move to Hawaii or some other place and be one of the beautiful people.
Okay, hopefully, I'll get off my backside today and be somewhat productive. There's plenty to do to get ready for winter, drain and put away the hoses, bring the high pressure washer down the basement, hang the grow lights, put the little blue four wheeler in the storage container for the winter, get the snow blower out, etc, and that doesn't include working out in the shop.
Hey, there's no time to be lazy. I'm retired and with that comes certain responsibilities. Time to get a move on.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
We live in the Upper Peninsula of northern Michigan near the small ghost town of Pentoga Village and the Brule River. Family, friends, hiking, wood working, gardening, fishing, photography, and of course, writing, are my passions. Join me daily as I write about our lives and this magical place we call Pentoga Road.
