Happy Fourth of July to everyone! God Bless America!
Our Fourth happened on the third and as with any Mighty Milligan celebration, it was filled with perfect temperatures, plenty of sunshine, love, laughter, and lots of good food.
Pictures? I'll let them tell the story:
Sargie's helping to hand Baby Piper off to her mommy so she can enjoy the pool. |
Uncle Boyd is battling for his life. I'm not sure what there is about Boyd and me. We must have "SPLASH US!" tattooed across our foreheads. |
I'm getting cornered by Marley, Aubrey, Brielle, and their munchkin gang |
Hambone soon joined the action |
It was time for Boyd and I to take a break |
Uncle Cale and Grady managed to pull Macrea into the water, clothes and all! |
Daddy acts mad, but it was all an act. |
Sargie and Nancy are taking in the action well away from the edge of the pool. |
Along with her sister, I might have helped to shove Mel into the pool. Everyone was getting in on the action. |
It was Nick and Teddy's, birthday. Little Nick... who's now well into his 30's, is Teddy's Godson, and both are preparing to blow out the candles. |
As with all good gatherings, it began to break up late in the afternoon. |
So the day ended. It was a bunch of tired kiddies, big and little alike, who bade each other goodbye and slowly drove away.
Sargie and I had no trouble sleeping last night and the truth be known, could have slept later this morning. Unfortunately, she has to work in the Vision Center today. I'm going to cut this hay we call grass which will take several hours before rain begins to fall once again tomorrow. Our forecast for dry weather has suddenly changed to a 90% probability of rain and storms, some possibly severe.
Time to start breakfast and get this show on the road.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
