For
whatever reason, the internet is out again this morning. Hmm, it's the weekend
which means no one is working. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Monday or later
before we see the digital highway running through this area again.
I rode
with Sargie back to Iron Mountain Friday morning. After seeing her off and
getting the Blazer, I stopped at Jeanne and Boyd's to drop off some rutabagas
and squash for the family.
We still
have quite a few squash in the basement, but the rutabagas are about
finished.
We talked
for quite a while and caught up on the news before I bade them goodbye and made
my way back to Pentoga Road.
Friday
afternoon was spent in the shop, working on the Old Man and the Sea piece. It's
taking a lot longer than I anticipated, but at this point, I'm far enough along
that I don't want to make a foolish mistake. I should finish with the sawing
part today, then will sand it and make a background and frame.
It was
past dark before I came in the house. Sargie was closing the Vision Center so I
wasn't in any hurry. The evening was spent in front of the television
reading.
It was
almost 9:30 before Sargie walked through the door. My favorite optician in the
world closes again tonight, setting up another marathon session for her
today.
I'm going
for my usual walk then will see what the day has in store. There's plenty to do
if only I can find the gumption to get it done.
The first
thing on my agenda is to pour another cup of coffee and listen to the
news.
Oh wait,
we don't have any internet. I guess I might as well get busy doing something
meaningful then.

After
all, a man's work is never done.
So are
the tales from Pentoga Road...
