December 5, 2016 - Monday
30 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

We're up extra early this morning since Sargie not only opens, but will meet Macrea and drop Grady off on her way to work. That means Hambone will be up long before daylight to eat his Cheerios and fruit and get a quick bath before he and Grandma Sargie leave for Iron Mountain.

Grady and I were busy Sunday morning putting up the Christmas lights on the four strawberry pyramids.

Officially, my helper was simply known as Staple Boy which meant he handed the stapler to Pawpaw when needed. It was an important duty that he didn't take lightly until the half melted pile of snow was discovered by the back steps. After that, all bets were off.

We were almost half finished when more snow began falling, providing a perfect background for hanging Christmas lights. I taught Grady how to catch snowflakes on his tongue. He reminded me just how much fun that can be.

We took a quick late-morning trip to town for fried chicken and ham, returning home in time to watch the Packers/Houston game. Yooper Brother Mark, my buddy, John, and I, once again did an adequate job of coaching as we emerged victorious. The Packers need to win the next four games to remain in contention for the playoffs.

Sunday night was spent perusing the internet in search of the original cartoons of Frosty, Rudolph, and A Charley Brown's Christmas, and we even watched a few original's of Donald Duck with Chip and Dale (the chipmunks, not the dancers). Grady loved them all.

Snapping pictures of Santa with his Big Bird talking camera on Sunday afternoon.
Sargie will deliver Grady on her way to work this morning. That in itself isn't such a big deal, but it does mean we're all up an hour earlier than usual. Grady will have to have his bath, eat breakfast, and eventually, be strapped into his car seat bright and early.

I'm going to go for my usual walk then work in the shop the rest of the day. There are umpteen snowmen and ornaments to make plus several other Christmas gifts that I've not even started.

It looks to be a busy day ahead.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
