Congratulations, Abba! Grandpa and Grandma Sargie are proud of you!
December 17, 2016 - Saturday
11 degrees/light snow/calm winds
Pentoga Road

So far, we've not experienced the gloom and doom weather that was previously forecasted. Two or three inches of snow fell during the night, but so far (knock on wood), so good.

There's not a lot of write about this morning. In fact, as I told someone earlier, if we'd have been any more laid back on Friday, there'd be mold growing on our backs.

One of this year's new Santas
Mom was up early and we had a good time drinking coffee and catching up on the news in each other's lives.

Sargie joined us later in the morning. Since her vacation is coming to an end, she's taking advantage of any opportunity to sleep late. Mom and I both agree that we wish we could do the same. The ability to do so simply isn't in our genetic make up. I'm doubly doomed as both of my grandfathers, Grandpa Reinhardt and Grandpa Pennington, were incapable of sleeping past 5 AM.

The three of us went to town later in the day. The ladies found a treasure or two at our women's store and we later stopped by the super market for a few items.

Sargie made her famous garlic seafood pasta last night for supper. Mom had purchased a premixed package of buttery garlic bread, so I baked that to go along with supper. No one went hungry on Pentoga Road last night!

The evening was a mix of talking and Hallmark Movies.

Sargie wrapped presents.

Mom watched television, worked puzzles, or played solitaire on her iPad.

I'm not certain what time the girls went to bed. I took a shower and headed upstairs before 10 PM. Being lazy takes a lot of out of guy.

The front dining room is really looking like Christmas. A table of wrapping paper, presents, bags, goodies, Santas and other decorations, it's all beautiful.
It appears today's agenda might closely resemble that of yesterday. I'll clean the drive and deck once the snow has stopped falling. After, I hope to sneak out to the shop and play with a new chuck for the lathe that the UPS man delivered yesterday. It will enable me to more easily turn plates, bowls, and other goodies too numerous to mention.

Meanwhile, I hear some movement on the second floor which means Mom's up and around. It won't be long before we begin round two of sipping early morning coffee and solving whatever problems arose in the world on Friday.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
