The last step in putting the garden away for the winter months was to till the beds. I began shortly after daylight on Wednesday morning. You can see, the frost on the ground. |

I'm running slow this morning. Seems we've acquired an addition to the household and he was awake and ready to roll this morning. I'm going to attempt to get this uploaded while he's eating his peanut butter and jelly.
Wednesday dawned clear and chilly. After writing, I was outside shortly after sunrise. My goal was to get all the beds and the rest of the garden tilled.
I use a flat spade to dig the soil away from the sides of each bed to ensure it's well mixed.
Next comes the tilling and raking smooth. All the beds were finished late in the afternoon. Other than putting away any tools, the fountain equipment, and other goodies, I'm officially finished with the garden for 2016 season!
Sargie's off today and it appears our agenda is full to overflowing. The mechanic called and said the snowblower is fixed and ready for another season of use.
Grady and I will take the pumpkins via the tractor and front end loader to Neighbor Mike's to be used for deer bait and there's wood to be carried in. It's going to be a busy day ahead.
Meanwhile, I'm going to join Grady in singing, "The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round." Hey, it's the way we roll around here.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
