Grandson, Bennet, wishing everyone a happy
Good Morning!
March 14, 2016 - Monday
35 degrees/cloudy/calm winds
Pentoga Road

I'd just finished writing Sunday morning when Sargie asked if I wanted to make a quick trip to Green Bay to look at air compressors. There were several things she needed and thought if we left right away, we could make a mad dash from one place to another and still arrive home in time for the annual St. Agnus's St Patty's Day dinner.

A road trip? Me? The man who is home most the time with only a bulldog to talk to? Heck yeah, I was up for a drive-by shopping road trip.

And so it was that we zoomed south to Green Bay and literally, with less than two hours of shopping time, purchased everything we needed and were back home with twenty minutes to spare so we might attend the dinner last night.

Our first stop was at Fleet Farm for dog goodies and bulk popcorn. Check.

Then to Sam's Club for basic household items and a few groceries. Check.

We were on our way out of Sam's when I grabbed the door lady and asked Sargie to take our picture. Poor woman didn't even know what happened.
The mall was the next stop for girl stuff for Sargie and hand soap at Bath and Body Works. Check.

Where did all the people come from? Didn't they realize we were on a mission? There was no time for trivialities such as traffic and congestion.

With a last spurt of energy, Sargie navigated across town to Harbor Freight. What? A three-day parking lot sale? We couldn't find the parking lot for all the cars and trucks.

I was in the final phase of making a decision as to which air compressor I should purchase, another like the old one for $99 or a much larger one that was on sale for $169, when Sargie walked up and asked, "Is this what you need?"

It was the regulator needed to make the old compressor work! I'd poured over Harbor Freight's homepage the night before and no mention of parts was ever made. She found it hanging on a wall for $12! I could have kissed her. Oh wait, I did. Check.

With Sargie running interference, we waded through the massive herd of man-shoppers to the car, pointed north, and arrived home with twenty minutes to spare. What a day. Double Check.

Our supper last night was one of the best yet. Yooper Brother Mark was one of the cooks with Sheri close at hand, and along with Jerad and Jenna, we all gathered at one table for a fantastic meal.

The people who attend are always friendly and it was good to talk with several whom I only see at the yearly function.

It was a wonderful evening filled with friendship and full bellies.

Sargie and I collapsed in front of the television last night and despite the time change, had no trouble falling asleep.

My favorite optician opens today at the Vision Center. I'm going to take my five mile stroll first thing then put the air compressor back together. It's to be fifty-five degrees, the warmest day forecast for the next ten, so I might work on the garden fence, but then the oil in the tractor needs to be changed and there's the new planter on which to begin work.

Decisions, decisions. If only you had my life, but then, I'm not surprised.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Isabella looking at Mama on the other side of the playground fence. I told Sarah that Isabella could come and live with us, that we wouldn't cage her in, but rather let her run and play like a wild child of the north!
