Grady's helping Grandma Sargie and PawPaw shovel snow
March 25, 2016 - Friday
5 degrees/clear/calm
Pentoga Road

The big snow storm that blew through Wisconsin and part of the UP didn't leave much on Pentoga Road other than this morning's frigid temperatures. Worry not, today's high is to be near fifty with plenty of sunshine forecast.

I overslept this morning. I guess shoveling the three inches of snow that fell yesterday about did me in. I initially cleared the drive with the plow, then Grady and Sargie came out and helped using shovels, a great excuse to get Grady outside for some exercise.

Psss, Brutus... wanna play?

We were remarking yesterday how much Grady's grown this past year. He's quickly losing his baby fat and is morphing into a long and lean little boy. Wasn't it just last week that he was just a speck on the kitchen counter when getting ready for a bath? It won't be long before his tubbies move from the kitchen sink to the upstair's bathtub.

Bath time
After two hours of playing outside, Grady was all worn out. We thought he was going to fall asleep in his high chair and it wasn't long before he was ready for a nap.

I took advantage of the opportunity to sneak out to the shop where I continued working on the new planter. Three more tiers were cut and locked into place. The planter is almost finished.

As of now, I'm thinking of putting it in the middle of the green space in the garden between the orchard and vegetable area.

Macrea arrived by mid afternoon to pick up Grady and they were soon on their way back to Iron Mountain. We'll see both again on Saturday at the Mighty Milligan Easter gathering.

Sargie and I went to town and bought groceries, then wandered around the countryside on our way home.

Sargie's back to work today, but has the next two off. Neighbor Mike is down from Marquette and wants to play, but I would like to finish the planter and get it out of the shop so I can begin work on the overhead arch that will be placed at the entrance to the garden.

So much time, so little me, but then are we surprised? After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Grady and I were enjoying a tangerine together and I was playing PawPaw the Fire Breathing Walrus.
Yeah... I know. You don't need to say anything.
