Grady and Grandpa mapping out strategies for beating the Vikings. We didn't do a very good job. The Packers lost.

Sargie and I are up extra early this morning to get Grady ready to be dropped off at the babysitters in Iron Mountain before Sargie heads on to work.

Couple that with Mom leaving today on the noon flight and this is shaping up to be a busy next couple of hours.

Sunday was a good day on Pentoga Road. We spent the morning just hanging out. Grady played and did his thing. Mom ran through the paces on her iPad making sure she didn't have any last minute questions before she leaves, Sargie did some laundry, tended to Grady, and did whatever all she does on days off, and me? I just tried to stay out of everyone's way and let it all happen around me.

We took a ride to town and picked up some fried chicken for Sunday lunch. Driving by a few lakes coming home, we discovered the first ice fisherman of the season on our local lake. Last year, it was me.

Evidently, he's not trusting the ice too much as he set up in very shallow water only a few feet deep.

Grady and I spent some time outside Sunday afternoon. His first chore was to help me spread corn to feed the deer.

He could hardly believe his luck when he found that he was supposed to scatter the shelled corn on the ground. To purposely make a mess and not get in trouble? Heavenly!

I later pulled Grady in the sleigh behind the four wheeler, but as usual, we hadn't gone too far before he fell sound asleep.

Naturally, as soon as we came inside, Grady awakened and had slept just enough that he was ready to play for the rest of the day.

Last night was spent in preparation for the big Packers/Vikings game.

Isabella donned her Packers Cheerleader outfit and spent her time reading before the game began.

Even little Ivy, just a couple of weeks old, was smiling in anticipation of the upcoming contest.

But in the end, it wasn't to be and the Packers lost.

Sargie's back to work today. Mom and I will be leaving mid morning for Iron Mountain. We'll stop by the Vision Center before going on out to the airport. Mom's checked in and ready to go.

Sargie's out of the shower and about ready to get Grady up. I'll feed him his breakfast while she finishes getting ready for work. It's time to rock and roll.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Don't even start, Nancy.
