Emmie playing early-morning "tickles" with Brutus
July 3, 2015 - Friday morning
55 degrees/hazy/breezy
Pentoga Road

I missed my early morning window to write, so I'll let the following pictures write the story. I think they're fairly self-explanatory.

Let me read you a story, Brutus
I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that everyone else is pretty much secondary when Brutus and Emmie are together.

I went to see my friends at Today's Smile Thursday morning to get a permanent crown installed.

I feigned fear so that everyone would feel sorry for me.

As usual, Eric and his crew were wonderful. We talked, laughed, and after a short while, my new pretend-tooth was cemented into place and I once again have a pretty mouth.

We spent much of the morning on the patio and in the backyard playing.

Mommy/daughter yoga time on Pentoga Road

Later in the morning, Matt did some work while sitting at the dining room table while I grabbed a hoe and with Brutus at my side, went deep into the woods to chop thistles.

It was mid-afternoon before Jess, Matt, and I, left for town on four-wheelers to do a bit of grocery shopping.

We stopped by Yooper Mark's plant for a quick visit and tour.

And no four-wheeler trip to town would be complete without a quick stop for a Coke.

Mom and Sargie played babysitters while we were gone.

Sargie grabbed the good SLR camera and took some beautiful shots of Emmie.

I fried fish for last night's supper.

We made a fire in the new outdoor fireplace last night and sat around it until bedtime.

With coyotes howling in the background and something large (a bear?) crashing through the woods nearby, it was the perfect way to end a near-perfect day.

Today appears to be just as busy as yesterday. We'll spend much of it gabbing, eating, and later, I think Jess, Matt, and I, will go for a kayak paddle around the lake.

Macrea and Grady are due to pull in for the weekend this afternoon and Yooper Brother Mark, Sheri, Sarah, and Isabella, are coming for supper this evening. Things are a rockin' and a rollin' on Pentoga Road this weekend. Well, at least until tomorrow when we travel to Derek and Leah's for the annual Mighty Milligan Fourth of July celebration!

Time for another cup of coffee. Emmie's up and I think she and Grandpa will think some deep thoughts together. We're at the same mental levels. After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
