Well look who's been a good girl this year! |

Pentoga Road
The past two days have been quiet ones on Pentoga Road. Andy and I fished for part of Sunday; out there braving cold and snow in the name of putting meat on the table. Andy did catch another nice northern and I snagged a small perch. One thing for certain; I'm going to have to practice my fishing techniques before the boy returns. He's showing his dad how to fish at every turn. Oh well, he must have had a good teacher.
We were up early on Monday. Sargie had to go to work and Andy finished packing.
A couple more inches of snow fell Sunday night. |
We were on our way to the airport by midmorning and stopped by the Vision Center so Andy could tell Sargie goodbye.
I took Andy to the airport and we visited until he went through security. I hate to see him leave, but like all grown, hard-working men, he has his own life to get back to.
I stopped back at the Vision Center to pick up Sargie for lunch and after a quick burger, I was on my way home.
My new iPhone arrived via Fed Ex and I spent most the afternoon getting it set up. Thankfully, I'd backed everything up on my computer, so it was simply a matter of syncing the two. I like the new phone, especially the features that allow me to totally command it by voice. I am able to dictate texts and emails and listen to both without having to see the screen. I can even send audio text messages. Now if I can just keep from dropping this phone into the water.
The Packers won a close one last night over Atlanta. Andy and I were texting while he was 35,000 feet in the air on his way to Houston, Texas. Yooper Brother Mark was at home adding his coaching abilities. Between the three of us, we managed to see the Packers emerge victorious. There were a few times in the last quarter that I grew fearful, but in the end, the better team prevailed. I know our secondary defense better improve quickly or it'll be a short season when playoff time arrives.
Sargie works early today and we should have a nice evening together tonight. I have a dentist appointment at 8 this morning. After, I'm going to come home and put the finishing touches on the ice shack, mostly mounting the fish finder/sonar at eye level so I can see the screen. Three years ago I could read it at ice level, last year it became difficult to read, and this year, it's just a big black blob with no screen at all. No wonder Andy out-fished me. No fair.
And with all that being said, I think it's time to pour a cup of coffee and think some deep thoughts. I'm sure there is one rattling around in there somewhere.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
