18 degrees/clear/calm/cold
Pentoga Road
Though there are two to four inches that are forecast to fall later today, it appears the storm that dumped almost two feet of snow has moved on.
I heard rumors from an unidentified source, that this lady who is shoveling in her nightgown, might be the lovely Sheri, wife of Yooper Brother Mark. Now there's a REAL northern woman! |
Sargie and I began cleaning the drive and back deck yesterday morning. It was a chore and initially, I had to run the plow over the snow with the blade up to move the top layer.
It was slushy underneath and I kept getting high centered and stuck. Simply put, it was miserable.
Sargie asked if I thought it would help if she hopped on the four wheeler behind me to give it added weight. What a difference. With both of us atop the machine, we soon had the drive fairly clean.
As I told someone in an email earlier this morning, I started out of the gate Tuesday morning like a Kentucky Derby winner and finished at the tail-end of the pack. This diver-what-ever-it-is really kicked the poopies out of me. I spent the majority of the day in my recliner, covered with the electric throw and grading papers.
I'm going to attempt to find a doctor today. My old one retired, joined Doctors Without Borders, and moved to Vietnam. His replacement was short lived, so I need to find someone in whose hands to place my colon.
I may try to get the snowblower from town today. The old truck? We'll see.
Sargie's off to work and I'm going to think a few deep thoughts here before I get too carried away. After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
