There are not-so-subtle hints from above that summer may be ending |

Pentoga Road
Is anyone else noticing how late the sun is rising these days? Wasn't it just the morning before last that I got up at 4 AM and it was already becoming light? Sure is dark out there this morning.
The past two days have been spent landscaping and moving Sargie's stuff from the storage unit home.
I spent several hours on Wednesday working on the flue that is over the living room. As has become the norm, it seems the previous owner sort of cobbled things together rather than taking the time to do everything right. Brother Mississippi Garry said I sound just like the president, always blaming the former administration for any current malady. Boy, he sure knows how to hurt a guy.
Several hours were spent in the front half of the side yard and I about have that ready to begin making raised beds for the addition of next year's garden. After a summer of digging, hauling rocks, plus leveling the ground, I'm ready to see some results in the form of a bigger garden. It should all come to fruition next year.
Sargie spent the majority of Thursday morning sorting through the boxes that we brought over a week ago.
She had just finished those when we hooked up Yooper Brother Mark's trailer and drove an hour to get another load.
This is all that is left to move. One more trip and we can chalk the storage unit adventure off our list.
Sargie worked until bedtime in the living room sorting boxes and we made multiple trips to the burn barrel. I'm taking at least two, maybe three, loads of goodies to the thrift store this morning.
Sargie works early today, but is off both Saturday and Sunday. Depending on the weather, I hope we can move the last of the items tomorrow. The boxes and totes are done and all that remains are a few pieces of furniture. I'll be going on Telephone Time next week in an effort to try to sell those.
It's time to begin the day. There's a paper or two to grade and an SUV to load with boxes of treasures much too valuable to mention.
But first, I think I'll have a cup of coffee and listen to the news. After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
That's either a seven or an eight point buck |
