The day lillys and hostas are in full bloom in the perennial garden in the front of the house |

Pentoga Road
There's not a lot of excitement happening on Pentoga Road these days, but I took a few pictures yesterday and thought I'd upload those.
I worked in the garden, mostly watering by hand, on Saturday morning. All I'm doing is keeping everything alive. What we really need is a good soaking rain, an inch or two spread over two or three days.
The giant pumpkins have spread out and are growing at their own risk beyond the boundaries of the electric deer fence. |
If it's anything like last year, this giant pumpkin will begin to double in size every few days. It's time to begin feeding it daily. |
The pepper patch. I'm beginning to ask myself WHY did I plant thirty peppers plants? I know why... I planted them from seed and I hate to see anything go to waste. |
Yellow banana peppers. I think there are five or six varieties in all. |
The bunching onions are about finished, but they have the prettiest flowers. |
We worked for several hours and have it almost finished. I'll be moving the backhoe to the front in the next day or so.
I found a few more boulders along the way. |
Sargie and I went for our usual "day off from work" ride late Saturday afternoon and after working in the heat all day, enjoyed riding in the cool air conditioning of the car.
Sargie works from noon to five today. I'm going to put the finishing touches on the landscaping and call that area finished. We were supposed to have a fish fry last night, but were both too tired. I'll get the fryer going later this afternoon and we'll enjoy deep fried bluegill filets after she arrives home from the Vision Center.
There are blueberries to pick and freeze. It appears we're having a bumper blueberry crop this year. I'm not sure if I'll do that today or tomorrow. It's stressful you know. After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
