Brielle is wishing Grady a happy Fourth of July. |

Just like that, the Fourth has come and gone. I remember when teaching in northern Maine that I considered the summer about half over when Independence Day arrived. Getting out for summer break around the third week of June, and beginning the next school year the second week of August, the summer was painfully short.

I hope that's not the case now. I'm simply not ready for fall to arrive. Seems as though the snow just melted a week or two ago.
Friday was a fun one. Milligan friends and family gathered for a day of swimming, talking, laughing, and of course, eating.

I put my usual pocket camera on the charger early in the morning so it wouldn't run out of battery power during the day. When I attempted to retrieve it later, I discovered I'd forgotten it at home. All the pictures were taken with my phone; not the best quality, but in this case, "good 'nuff."
It didn't take long after he arrived for Auntie Nancy to hold Grady. |

It truly was a wonderful day with perfect weather.
As has become tradition, sister Nancy doing her JC Penny mannequin pose. Search back through all the pictures from family gatherings and you'll see a different pose each time. |
I'm not sure what today will bring. Sargie's been cleaning the cupboards, washing all the dishes, arranging and rearranging. I'm going work in the garden first thing this morning, then hopefully get some backhoe/landscaping work completed.
On the other hand, we may simply take a drive and leave any work for another time. As Mom told me years ago, life is filled with decisions.
No matter, one thing remains a constant. The fact is that a man's work is never done.
