Another beautiful summer morning has dawned. Looks to be a zippity do dah day. I just received a text from Andy at the Houston Airport. He made it through security and was there in plenty of time for his 6 AM flight to Minneapolis connecting to Iron Mountain. The boy should arrive around 12:30 this afternoon.
Why I have an electric deer fence. Taken about four minutes ago from the living room window. |
I can hardly wait to start work on the storage building next month. I'll probably spend a week just looking for decent building material.
A stop was made at Walmart for a couple of things and I enjoyed talking with Sargie and her buddy, Michelle, during a rare down-time in their normally very busy schedule.
Once home, I put a new handle on the front of the boat. I thought I took the hook off the last time I went fishing, but evidently, it didn't release and when I went to back the trailer into the water, the tire of the car ran up on the rope and pulled the original handle out of the hull.
What to do for a handle? I found the one I'd saved that was used with the old garage door. Though not a perfect fit, it is good enough.
I finished painting the tomato cages. Painted different colors, they add a bit of life to the garden with their various colors and unique design.
Other than hanging out a couple of loads of laundry and putting fresh sheets on the beds, the rest of the day was spent on the backhoe. One section of the yard is almost finished. It's a slow process, but I'm in no hurry.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
