The rest of the day was spent doing absolutely nothing. I'd started a fire in the outdoor wood furnace prior to leaving for town, but on arrival home, found it had failed to catch. The shop was as cold as the outside temperatures.
By the time I'd have started the fire and waited an hour for the shop to warm, it would have been well into the afternoon. Hmm.
I did what any grandpa would do on a cold Sunday afternoon. I returned inside, sat in my recliner, huddled under a blanket, and under the guise of watching television, took a nap.
I hear my beloved Packers lost the conference championship game yesterday and won't be going onto the Super Bowl.
Too bad.
I hope the NFL will get out of the business of politics before next season. This past one had at least one less viewer, me.
I'll watch junior high girls field hockey before supporting any professional sport where the National Anthem and our flag are disrespected and participants refuse to stand for our country's flag, but then, that's what half of us have become, isn't it.
We'll see how that works out for America over the next four years. I pray for only the best.
Oh well, the NFL can do their thing. I'll do mine. No skin off my backside.
OK, time to shake, rattle, and roll. Sargie will be leaving in a few minutes and I'll pull out of the drive right behind her. I'll get my tooth cleaned this morning, start a fire in the wood furnace after, go for my walk, and HOPEFULLY, the shop will be warm by the time I return.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
