November 16, 2020 - Monday
23 degrees/cloudy/windy
Pentoga Road

I'm just doing a cursory check-in this morning. For the first time in days, I failed to do any of the following yesterday:

1: enter the shop
2: go for a walk
3: stroll through the yard and/or garden
4: chase Sargie around the house

I did the following:

1: took a long nap
2: watched tv and/or stared at the computer
3: ate a McDonald's ice cream cone

With it being the first day of firearm's season and the wind howling at 40 to 50 mph, I had no want to go strolling through the woods or down the road. Plus, who in their right mind would pass up the opportunity to take a long winter's nap on such a lousy day?

We picked up Hambone last night at our usual meeting place. Excited to be at Grandma Sargie and Pawpaw's for the next week, he was wound up like an eight day clock. We had a great evening watching tv and doing whatever it is we do when there's a six year old in the house.

It's time to wake up Miss Sargie, the school marm. Hambone will follow a bit later. Virtual school begins at 8:45 and being the head of the Tech Dept, I need to get the computer set up and the classroom ready to go. In the real world, that means I have to clear the dining room table of all my stuff.

I'll be going for my walk while school's in session then hiding in the shop for the rest of the morning. There's a dead ash tree to take down and work up later this afternoon, one of Hambone's favorite activities. That ought to work off some of that six year old excess energy. He loves being outside and actually doing something useful. My kind of boy.

Time to get the teacher up and at 'em.

After all, a man's work, or that of the school marm, is never done, at least for the coming week.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
