There are three giggly girls!

July 26, 2020 - Sunday morning
70 degrees/clouds/calm winds
Pentoga Road

Talk about rain... another 1.45 inches fell overnight during some very heavy storms. Sargie and I were brought up out of bed several times by close lightening strikes and the sound of rain pelting onto the metal roof overhead was near deafening.

In the forecast for today? More rain of course! Thankfully, yesterday's oppressive humidity is to lessen with temperatures for this coming week to remain in the very pleasant seventy degree range.

Tim and I had a long walk Saturday morning. Thankfully, I arrived back home before the temperatures began to climb. Our thermometer registered 92 degrees Saturday afternoon before the sun went down last night.

Sargie had some errands to run in the Iron Mountain area later Saturday morning. The first stop was at Chief the Dog's house. Oh, yeah, we also had a short, but wonderful, visit with Tom and Melinda.

Tom and Melinda are not only our friends, but Melinda is also Sargie's beautician and had some hair care products for Sargie.

We continued onto Iron Mountain where we dropped off a few jars of maple syrup at Ross and Holly's. It was good to see the folks, plus Derek and family as well as Ashley and the girls.

After a quick stop at the grocery store and the gas station and later, in Florence, for ice cream, and we were on our way home.

I worked in the shade outside the barn for the rest of the afternoon on the garden house stoop. The top is covered with a leftover piece of treated plywood. The treated 2x4 frame is covered with unused siding.

I'll paint the stoop this afternoon and fasten the plastic tile to the top before moving it from the barn to the garden.

Saturday evening was spent watching tv in front of the fans. It was pleasant as long as we didn't move too fast. Thankfully, it cooled off after the sun went down and we slept comfortably under a blanket last night.

Tim and I are supposed to take an eight mile hike this morning. I've not talked to him yet, but with more rain in the forecast, plans are still up in the air. As far as the rest of the day goes, I'm hoping to get into the shop and clean. Sawdust and tools from the past several projects are scattered all over the place.

Time to get a move on.

We saw this guy, tie dyed t-shirt, white hair, pony tail, and short shorts, at a filling station. I couldn't let a photo op like this one pass me by.
After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...

Chief hadn't seen me in a while. It didn't take him long to back up and sit on my feet, holding me hostage until I scratched behind his ears.
