Pentoga Road
Jambo and I are planning to go fishing in the morning, so I thought I ought to write tonight. We'd like to be on the lake fairly early and back home by mid morning as there's still gardening to be done.
I was awake at 3 this morning and as it turned out, up for the day. I was out in the garden before sunrise and had the first load of top soil shoveled from the trailer before 8 AM.
Needing more, I was at the Ready Mix plant when they opened.
It was some morning, but all the raised beds are filled with dirt, the planters and pots are as well.
I fixed the large octagonal planter by the road and filled it with dirt. Broken and somewhat rotten, I brought it to the shop in the wagon in several pieces.
Time was spent late this afternoon getting the boat ready for another season of fishing. It wasn't long after before Sargie and I were on the lake, casting and trolling.
Fishing was slow. I did catch a baby northern that about swallowed my lure.
The fish was so small that no amount of holding it towards the camera would make it look any bigger. He was thrown back to grow up another day, hopefully when he's much bigger.
Bedtime's coming early tonight. Both Sargie and I were on the go all day, then after sitting out on the lake this evening, our energy tanks are on empty.
Time to grab a late supper and think about bed.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
