It took most of the morning and part of the afternoon, but the oil and hydraulic fluids were drained and replaced with new.
The tractor will be greased tomorrow and that part of the maintenance will be finished. Mechanic Mike agreed to do some welding on the bucket and after that, the old Ford will be ready for another season of work.
It was mid afternoon before I resigned from my self-imposed mechanic's position and headed to the lake. Though fishing was lousy, I enjoyed the bright sunny day and warm temperatures.
No need to worry about the depth of the ice. It's still well over three feet thick.
I received word today that our new windows will be installed Thursday. I called and shared the news with Sargie. Needless to say, there's an excited girl who lives on Pentoga Road. She's finally getting her new windows.
Tuesday looks to be a repeat of today sans fishing. It's still early for the spring bite and, no pun intended, I've got bigger fish to fry on these early days of spring. It's time to clean the barn in preparation of building the garden house. The walls and roof will be made in sections and taken to the garden for completion after the new pond is finished.
With all that being said, it's time to prepare Sargie's supper. She'll be pulling in at any time.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
