February 1, 2019 - Friday
-14 degrees/clear skies/calm winds
Pentoga Road

I love clear mornings. I don't care if it's warm or cold, there's something about the sky just before sunrise that's beautiful. Though I'm not a star gazer, I know that sliver of the moon is waning and one of those big stars is Venus. It was directly alongside the moon half an hour ago.

Thursday was almost a non event day. I don't think the thermometer ever topped zero and with a stiff breeze, I had no interest in venturing too far outside.

We called the window dealership yesterday and the owner will be down next week for final measurements and to take a partial payment. Afterwards, he'll order them and hopefully, they'll be installed this early spring. Since each is custom made, they take about six weeks to arrive.

We are receiving the parts for the Kia and the most exciting thing I did was to unwrap the bumper cover.

Amazing how they ship the cover via Fed Ex, wrapped and sealed. It looked horrible when I first released it, but after a few hours in the heat, looks like it should.

The front headlight and lens have arrived. We're waiting for the grill and after that, it all will be taken to Mechanic Dave's to be installed. Sargie should have her car back sometime next week.

We took our usual drive yesterday afternoon. I had to put the battery charger on the Blazer as the SUV hadn't been started for several days. It almost fired off, but I thought it was better to simply charge the battery and not kill what starting power was left. After a couple of hours on the charger, the old beast roared to life.

Sargie opens today and has tomorrow off. I'll head outside as soon as she leaves and begin the process of heating the shop. There's plenty to do and there's a possibility that I could teach three days next week. I'm signed up for one, but still thinking about taking the other two. I really only want to do a couple of days per week, but...

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
