Pentoga Road

Holy cow, where'd today go? Seems I just finished writing this morning and here I am tonight, doing the same. I guess we did squeeze a few hours in between then and now.

Most of the morning was spent in the shop. I began an intarsia type project cut from hickory.

I've never done anything like this before, but so far, so good. Cutting hickory is almost like slicing through concrete. It's very hard, extremely heavy, but is one of the most beautiful woods I work with.

Sargie and I drove to town this afternoon for a load of pallets from Yooper Brother Mark's plant. Before we went anywhere, I had to dig the trailer out of the snow.

Sargie and I had a good visit with Yooper Brother Mark and his assistant, Ann, while at the plant. With both busy in the office, I pulled the trailer around to the stacks of pallets and began loading.

It's a good thing there weren't any more as the trailer wouldn't hold another. There must be at least twenty that I'll begin disassembling once the temperature warms. I'll need many more before I begin construction on the garden shed.

The old MacBook Pro has been acting up, so I had no other choice but to rip into it one more time.

I found one ribbon power attachment that had come loose.

We're both back to work on Thursday. Sargie opens the Vision Center and I'll once again be teaching in the first grade room at Florence Elementary, Home of the Bob Kitties.

It's time to make Sargie's lunch, take a quick shower, and think about heading upstairs to bed.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
