It's tomato season in the North Woods |
58 degrees/partly cloudy/breezy

I was remarking earlier today about how we wait all year for just one fresh tomato then suddenly, we pick hundreds, all in a two week period.
Ah, gardening season in the Upper Peninsula. It's either feast or famine. This year, it's feast.
The blueberry season is beginning to draw to a close. There are no complaints from Sargie or me. We've been eating gallons of fresh berries for the past two months.
Most of Tuesday morning was spent cleaning the along the north side of the barn, the place where I put goodies that I don't want anyone to see. Mostly, I moved green wood down to the storage container to continue drying.
We celebrated tomato season by having our first BLT's of the summer. How can anything so simple taste so good?
Neighbor Mike came down this evening with the card from his trail cam. Lacking a computer at his camp, we use mine to view the pictures taken while he's away. Jambo left half an hour later a very excited man. Seems he has more large bucks on his land this year than ever.
The poor guy has two months to wait until the season begins. Hopefully, the bucks will still be in the area when November's hunting season begins.
We've talked with Joanne several times today and she ought to be pulling in any time. It's been a long long drive for her, well over twelve hours.
Sargie has an appointment early in the morning in Iron Mountain. We'll slip out of here early and let Joanne rest after her long ride. We should be home by late morning and after that, anything goes.
Oops, Aunt Joanne just pulled in! More later.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
