January 8, 2018 - Monday
25 degrees/partly cloudy/breezy
Pentoga Road

I'm up bright and early this morning to take advantage of what is promised to be a nice day. After several weeks of far below normal temperatures, the next three days are to be much warmer with Wednesday topping out in the mid thirties. After that, the thermometer is to plunge back to where it's been since Thanksgiving.

Sunday morning was spent on the lake in search of the elusive bluegill. Eight holes were drilled in a hundred yard area, all in varying depths of water.

Fishing's slow, mighty slow on our local lake; enough so that I'll begin lake hopping today. If the fish are hitting, I want to be the one catching them.

Sargie and I took our usual drive around the area Sunday afternoon. We weren't the only ones enjoying the nice day.

Activities on one of the lakes was reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting. Families were either fishing or riding snowmobiles.

Back home, Sargie and I finished putting away the outside Christmas decorations.

Each was wrapped in plastic and stored over the shop.

Sargie opens the Vision Center today. I'm going for my walk, then head out for a new (to me) lake and spend the morning fishing.

It's time to get by bride's lunch packed and breakfast ready.

After all, a man's work is never done.

So are the the tales from Pentoga Road...
